That’s a scary thought. Makes me glad Attlee beat Churchill and that Eisenhower not Patton was in charge of Allied Forces.

I’ve heard a theory that half the reason Truman dropped the nukes, aside from getter a quicker surrender from Japan than a conventional invasion would have… was to scare the hell out of Stalin.
