And people invoking the tenth amendment in silly ways does not make it appropriate to ridicule invoking the tenth amendment in general. Which is exactly what has happened. Any time one brings up the tenth amendment, it’s always, “oh, yeah, tenth amendment, you must be one of THOSE people”

The tenth amendment and state’s rights have long been the dumping ground for all sorts of bad ideas, slavery, segregation, discrimination, secession, racism, creationism is schools, etc. There are legitimate constitutional issues but it’s very rarely what people are talking about when they invoke the 10th.
