I do not understand the comments of a number of friends here who seem angry that Obama is trying to stop the bonuses.

Federal bailout money is given with a specific purpose, not as a blank check so that the corporate officers can make themselves even more wealthy off of the public weal. There is such a thing as malfeasance.

Why is there not more outrage here at these incompetent fatcats stealing our money? Do some people here hate Obama so much, that thay would rather see him fail at, at least trying to see this porkulus go where it is intended?

Don’t get me wrong. I am not fan of the bailout as it is. Don’t get me wrong, I have no love of either Republican or Democratic syphoning of the public trust into the hands of their cronies. That said, if we are going to spend money in an attempt to stimulate the economy - which all sorts of wise economic heads (on both sides of the aisle) tell us is a nescessity or bad things will happen - shouldn’t we at least wnat that money to go where it is intended and not into some “prince of the universe’s” (who is not beeter than you or me, in fact he is much worse, has no apparant useful skills and is a crook) personal accounts?

If I am going to pay welfare, I would prefer it went to people that needed the money - not crooks in suits. They can whine all the way to the country club. F* them.

I mean seriously, if I completely botch my job, I run the risk of getting fired - not millions in bonuses, and I do a hell of a lot more for society than these guys do.
