Yeah I like his cooking advice alot. Love that it’s based in scientific fundamentals so you learn the why behind the hows. He can be kind of annoying, but I guess that’s the price you pay. I also really enjoy Cook’s Illustrated magazine, they take the same approach as he does to all their recipes. You can buy an online subscription to their website for less than $40 a year, and it gives you full access to their complete archives. Recipes, product reviews, taste tests of store brands, and technique tips. Highly, highly recommended.

I’m not much of a cook. I do like it, and think I’m quite good when I do! But I’m lazy. More than 3 ingredients, I’ve lost interest. It’s terrible really.

My father was a better cook than my mother, but we never knew until he started a restaurant in mid-life. My poor mother hated cooking, which I also never realized until she told me. Then it was a like a lightblub! So that’s why she potted everything!

Of all the delicious things my dad made, his baked mac and cheese was always my fav, 5 cheeses, heavy cream, oh my.

My sis-in-law would like Cook’s Illustrated tho.
