My best Bush 41 memory is that when he was a congressman his nickname was “Rubbers” because he believed in contraception and family planning. This was back when Republicans were sane.

I liked knowing he was the Navy’s youngest fighter pilot and no one knew he was some bigwig Yale rich kid. His political legacy is mixed to me but he served his country and promoted that as a virtue.
