Because douchecanoe here doesn’t seem to see a need for a port near the mouth of the Mississippi River, which provides access to world markets for agriculture and manufacturing along the river, the Missouri, the Ohio, &c. Oh yeah, and people needing to live near that port to work there. And all the businesses needed to support those people.

Sure, just close the port and cut off a major portion of our export capacity.

He’s a douchecanoe and the idea that all those people have the resources to just move like his elitist ass is ludicrous.

On the flip side, maintaining New Orleans as a major urban area is untenable and continuing to do so is going to result in making Katrina look like a pool party. The city is doomed. We need to encourage and assist people in relocating.
