re: #50 Targetpractice
I’ve been to Jamestown, but that was a good long while ago. Most of the ventures my family made when I was younger were to museums, particularly science museums since that was the sort of thing I loved as a kid. But when you grow up in a military family, particularly when one parent or the other is out to sea for six months at a stretch, just taking a trip to the mall can be a treat to a kid. Then I was a college student for a few years out of high school so I barely had time between that and work to do much. And I left college just in time for the bottom to fall out of the job market, so I just now reached a point where I can afford to even consider paying the entry fees at places like Colonial Williamsburg.
We didn’t get to go to Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown until a ninth grade field trip. Jamestown was a reliable third and fourth grade destination, and we ran into Governor Godwin on a fifth grade field trip to Richmond.
