We know that Hillary’s appearance before the Benghazi inquisition hurt her, even though she demonstrated her mastery of facts and a calm temperament under pressure. Joe appears before the committee? It will be nonstop ads of clips out of context.

If one believes that the goal in the Senate is Trump’s removal or to do such damage to him politically as to make his reelection virtually impossible, then getting his inner circle on the stand is worth the possible damage to Joe Biden’s campaign. If this were happening in the fall, weeks after the convention and the nomination, I could agree that it’s not worth the risk. But now? When there’s still a robust field to fill the spot if he’s deemed “damaged goods”? I say go for it.
