The White House is flailing. Trump probably senses he’s likely in deep shit and he’ll do anything to distract potential voters.

If the situation gets worse, I imagine they’ll become increasingly frantic and hysterical. Trump knows the only thing keeping him from being indicted in a New York state courtroom is the office of the presidency. And if he loses that, then it’s game over. The other day, I saw Biden saying he would not pardon Trump….which was good to hear; I hope he sticks to that statement*. The criminal justice system needs to be allowed to run its course when it comes to Trump.

* the only way Trump could secure a pardon (if he loses this November) is for him to resign before 20 January 2021 and have Pence (as a caretaker POTUS) issue a blanket pardon while Trump flies off to Mar-a-Lago. BTW, that’s a scenario I could see happening…..Trump as Nixon Mk.II, so to speak.
