There is debate about whether ex post facto applies to tax law. I think it was meant to cover criminal cases.
Either way, could you imagine AIG going to the supreme court to sue the American tax payers to pay their outrageous bonuses? I think conservatives are making a very bad mistake defending these creeps who ran the economy into the ground and now we’re expected to give them outrageous bonuses for doing it? It’s insanity.
