it’s become crystal clear that the GOP’s “religious freedom” ruse was simply that — a sham.

There is a legitimate argument on that end, it was raised by religious groups (like the Catholic Bishops and even the less conservative groups within the Church). This though, after the compromise and all the other stuff is the GOP taking the ball and tripping all over themselves.
