This wasn’t true about them back in 2008? One thing that has been said that I do think it true, is that GOP moderates can’t win general elections. The hatred for Democrats is always there, but they need the love of the base to win. Dole, McCain and Romney didn’t/don’t have the love and it seems to be a vital ingredient.
