That really isn’t true. Guns are subject to strict limits and a new design has to be run by the ATF before it can be produced at all. Manufactures of guns can, like toymakers, be sued if their product hurts someone due to a defect. It’s not a unregulated firearms marketplace, not at all.

Are there federal laws shielding toymakers from being sued if their products are used in the commission of a crime?
