While my home grown tomatos are always better tasting I hesitate to claim they are cheaper than canned. By the time I figure in the cost of manure, gas for the tiller, hours of labor, water and bug dust they are probably more expensive per pound than ground beef.

You do all that for your tomatoes? I just plant them and let Mother Nature do the rest. I had an unbelievable year for tomatoes and still picking them.
