While my home grown tomatos are always better tasting I hesitate to claim they are cheaper than canned. By the time I figure in the cost of manure, gas for the tiller, hours of labor, water and bug dust they are probably more expensive per pound than ground beef.

Jesus, I have spent approximately 10 dollars on my garden, and I have more tomatoes than a small army could consume. I think you are trying too hard to grow what are essentially delicious weeds.
