I went to an allergist for awhile who was a lawyer for a few years, hated it, so he went to medical school and became a surgeon. Wasn’t really crazy about that either, so he went back and did another rotation (or whatever the word is in medicine when you “learn another thing”) and became an allergist. Or an autoimmunologist, or whatever. Relevant to nothing, except that your reference of “two very demanding fields” made me think of this guy. He was fucking brilliant. And he looked like an alien.
