Agree. We ought not have. I felt that Clinton eliminated the deficit in part through too-steep cuts in military spending. However, I believe that Bush erred in the opposite direction, by masking the cost of the war through overgenerous spending and some questionable tax cuts.

Well, we are still at war. And the tax cuts, particularly for those making a fuckton of money, persist. And it pisses me off to hear people who support those cuts complain about the deficit.
