re: #494 Decatur Deb

My Divine Providence nuns were the daughters of coal miners and steel workers, in a congregation founded by a labor-organizing German bishop in Bismarck’s day. It showed.

I was schooled by The Sisters of St. Francis ( Franciscans) who came from Joliet Illinois.

As I was saying on Sunday, different times in my Catholic background. They were all products of Vatican II, the kinder gentler more inclusive and celebratory church. And it was the 60s and the era of social change and they all seemed to be in on all that.

It is obvious Roe v Wade set the church off into the political realm that has really changed all I experienced. Another reason politics should be kept out of religion.
