True story: When I was 15, I was a foreign exhange student to Fiji. I went from a 99% white rural community to a place with about a 5% caucasion population (the majority being Indians or Fijians). I think that’s a big reason why I didn’t go wingnut like the rest of my family.

Anyhoo, after about two or three months there, I was on a bus headed to Suva Grammar School in my grey shirt, grey shorts and black sandals (the uniform of that school) and as we stopped by a small market to pick up some people, I looked in the window of the store and saw cans of Fanta on display. I turned to my Canadian ex-pat friend and shouted, “Look! Fanta!” and jumped off the bus and got an orange soda before catching the next bus to school.
