I don’t. I think the protesters should have protested without stopping her speech.

During the civil rights movement, the speeches of civil rights leaders were often shouted down by angry crowds as well.

Being on the side of the angry crowd is very rarely the right side to be on. Even if they have an ethical and moral point, the tactic is such that it should be eschewed.

That time and effort and energy could have gone into something a lot more constructive.

I’m not shedding any tears for her, or think that the words she would have said would have been in any way good. But unpopular speech needs the most protection.
