I’m wondering just when it was that people stopped being able to play music in their heads using imagination and memory, and why blocking out ambient sounds became desirable.

Sound for me is difficult. If the tv is on and people are talking, all I hear is…sound. I can’t make out words at all. If a commercial has music behind the spoken sales pitch, my brain goes into overload and I want to scream.

It’s all Charlie Brown Wah Wah Wah to me.
