If you have even a single shred of evidence to suggest that free markets have cured racism or segregation in the absence of state or religious intervention, by all means, show me.

Then why without legislation were there many businesses in states without Jim Crow laws that were integrated? It would seem that based on history markets do mitigate racism.

You cannot “cure racism” with the power of the state as evidenced that it still exists today albeit in a much more limited scope.

The only real thing that needed to take place was the elimination of Jim Crow laws and allowing businesses to choose to integrate.
