They aren’t heroes, and they played a big role in making the GOP so corrupt and hollow that a fascist conman like Trump could coopt it with ease. However, I’ll accept whatever help people opposed to a fascist takeover of America can give.

As many of us said at the time: “The enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. No more, no less.” Groups like the Lincoln Project were useful from the perspective of defeating Donald Trump, but make no mistake: They’re still Republicans. They still represent the same kind of repressive, regressive, inhumane policies that the rest of the GOP stand for.
