My concern is that a plan that relies on funding from non-compliance is a terribly cynical approach to governing.


There are a couple ways to look at that. If the penalty is too low then people and employers will forgo insurance and we’ll all end up paying for their healtcare when they get sick or injured. If the penalty is too high then they all get forced into the government’s “public option plan”. It’ll be interesting to see what happens but Fox and the Heritage Foundation aren’t trust worthy sources of analysis. Remember the “Death Panels”?
