Laura Schlessinger [“Dr Laura”] says she will not renew her contract after the end of the year, telling “Larry King Live” she wants to “regain my First Amendment rights.”

In plain English: she wants to be able to call black people ni@@ers without undue fuss.

What a rotten, lousy person she seems to be.

I became aware of Dr. Laura first because my Catholic grandma called me up all worried because Dr. Laura had said that non-Orthodox Jews didn’t believe in an afterlife. As little as I knew about Dr. Laura at the time, I thought she was Reform, and making that sweeping statement about herself and, well, everyone else in her boat. Later figured out it was a swipe at non-Orthodox Jews, although if that woman was genuinely frum I will eat a small cardboard box.

So I got to reassure my worried grandma that the granchild raised in the exotic faith she never understood all that well did, indeed, believe in the immortality of the soul. (I wasn’t that sure, but when your grandma is having a crisis on the telephone is no time to split fine points of belief.)

So now Mrs. “I believe in an afterlife, and am better than the people in the wrong sect of my religion” has decided she’s ‘lost her First Amendment rights’ because she got in trouble for saying “n*****” on the air? Well, poor, poor woman. There are some things the First Amendment allows you to do that Torah does not. Apparently KFWB-AM doesn’t allow them either.
