In some specific areas (eg tax cuts) you are correct, but generally he is leading them, dragging them even. It’s more a rel8uctant absence of opposition than support.

The Republican party and the aligned apparatus has spent the last 50 years creating this monster believing they could control it and use it to accomplish their objectives. The monster isn’t Trump, it’s the Republican base. Trump’s just the monster’s largest anus. Originally, the monster was under the control of it’s handlers, but over the decades it’s proceeded to eat many if not most of them and replace them with various appendages, orifices and other parts of it’s anatomy. The end result is that the monster is out of control and any remaining handlers who make too much of a fuss are just going to get eaten. So they just shout out things like “hey, wouldn’t tax cuts be grand” and “libtards would cry if we did this” and the monster usually goes along with it because it likes tax cuts and hates liberals.

Trump=Republican base. Republicans follow Trump so the base doesn’t eat them.
