I never expected even Poland to succumb to such hatred until last year. I’ve always held Poland as a success story in the past, but now it hurts to see what it has become now.

I know, the Poles have always been pretty socially conservative but I thought they wouldn’t succumb to that. I was also very saddened as an American of Slovene origin to see ugliness to the refugees as they crossed into Slovenia. It’s weird seeing Germany emerge as a leader for support and acceptance of refugees. Of course, that’s complicated too.
