Didn’t Fitzgerald spell it “Wolfshiem?” I remember thinking it looked odd when I read the book—and noticing, some years back, the same “ie” inversion in the dedication on a lectern cover.

As for the funny spelling, my family shook off its Yiddish name by adopting a pseudo-Celtic homonym. There’s just no telling.
