So I’m sitting in the hot tub tonight looking at all the satellites passing overhead, and I’m thinking ‘jeez there is a lot of junk floating around up there’.

Have you ever tried to pick up transmissions from them? Weather satellites, space shuttle etc. You can get all band radios that will pick up everything from 1kh to 2.3gh, and there are web pages that will tell you what frequencies to set the radio to when the object goes over your location. It’s fun to track them that way.

And sometime the shuttle and space station will do public broadcasts and you can hear that stuff.
