I know this is a throwback to the thread downstairs, but it occurs to me that one of the problems with a political position that is simply the opposite of another is that it forces you to espouse some really stupid shit. In this case, the need to believe the opposite of Al Gore forces each wingnuts to choose among a series of nonsensical positions:

1. CO2 isn’t really rising.
2. CO2 is rising, but there’s no proof it’s us doing it.
3. CO2 is rising, and it’s us doing it, but it won’t change anything.
4. CO2 is rising, and it’s us doing it, and it will change things, but that’s okay.
5. CO2 is rising, and it’s us doing it, and it will change things, and that will be bad, but doing anything about it will be worse.

All of which boil down to some form of ‘The Opposite Of What Liberals Believe’. How the hell do you live your life like that?
