Of course, the idea of having any “Trust” in windows in the first place is deeply problematical. One should always work from the presumption that everything from Redmond is compromised from day one.

The company I work for uses both Windows and Linux, and the updates are pretty regular for both.

Windows did go through a period where it was having to be updated frequently, and that was because they had concentrated on releases and features over security. But they got hammered because they were 80% of the OS market. They are more secure, and Linux gets security reports as well.
