The Republican Party is setting itself on fire in Georgia just before an important runoff election, so The Hill is required by law to trot out a âDemocrats in Disarrayâ article.
Manchin: Ocasio-Cortez âmore active on Twitter than anything elseâ
Hey Joe, Ocasio-Cortez is engaging a whole lot of people (especially young people) in politics. Thatâs a good thing.
Sen. Joe Manchin (d-w.va.) questioned the legislative experience of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a leading member of the Democratsâ progressive wing with whom he has clashed over the future of the party.
âI guess she put the dagger stare on me,â Manchin told The New York Times in reference to a photo the congresswoman tweeted of her glaring at the moderate during this yearâs State of the Union Address. âI donât know the young lady â I really donât. I never met her. Iâm understanding sheâs not that active with her bills or in committee. Sheâs more active on Twitter than anything else.â
Youâre not the victim here, Joe. As for her legislative experience, she wasnât born a representative. Sheâs gaining that experience like every first-term representative.
You on the other hand were elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1982, seven years before she was born.
