I think it will mostly be forgotten, save some Democrats who hope to make a bit of hay out of it.

In a week it’s going to be warm in Texas.

The 2022 and 2024 elections will be about abortion and the Supreme Court. Trump will try to insert himself. If he does, it may be about him too… but frankly at his age and health I can see him taking the dirt nap any time.

If a crisis comes out of nowhere it could dominate the election… but who can forsee those?

Covid isn’t going anywhere. “100-year” weather events every year aren’t going anywhere. Trials for insurrection aren’t going anywhere. White supremacy isn’t going anywhere. What about the agricultural collapse (drought brought on by climate change) of summer 2021, the new pandemic, and the mass-casualty white-terrorist attack of spring 2022?

Fact is, we have no idea what the 2022 elections will be about, and all we can do is work to pile up successes and highlight the failings of the other side.
