Many will still come out to vote against whoever the Democrats are running, but a lot of them will just stay home, and the big thing about the DT base was that they could always be counted on to get out in big numbers.

That is the thing, isn’t it? People worry about DeSantis as a “smarter Trump.” But the thing about Trump is he has the persona developed over decades and pushed in “The Apprentice” as a brilliant businessman who gets things done, and DeSantis is just another politician. Will the people who don’t usually vote but turned out for Trump turn out if Trump isn’t on the ballot? I have my doubts.
