Encasing nuclear waste first, then putting it in the remotest part of the surface of the Earth, is probably as good an idea as we can come up with to do with the stuff (assuming you don’t want to recycle it through other type of nuclear reactors.)

Yet it’s Robinson’s totally blind faith in the dispensable nature of the environment that is on display here.

Robinsion is one of the original anti-environmentalists. His approach is rooted in his religion. He was creating talking points against AGW, which are still used today by the deniers, before Al Gore got on the issue and started to publicize AGW widely.

In other words, a great deal of the stances people like Palin take on these issues were worked out by Robinson in the 70’s. Robinson and one of his co-authors, Gary North, both disciples of Rushdoony, and their friends were creating the basic talking points decades ago, when Palin was in grade school and Limbaugh was just a horny young man trying to figure out what to do for a career.

The GOP tapped into the mother load of looney when they picked Robinson to bear their banner.
