My point, I guess, is that incarcerating a pregnant women in effect also incarcerates the fetus, no? If the religious right which so predominates Georgia politics really cared about the rights of fetus, how does this thing happen?

I thought that pregnant women were supposed to be put in special blocs. It’s in the back of my mind that years ago I heard a story of a woman who was in jail overnight, and only told them that she was pregnant on the way out. The jailers were really mad at her because that’s something they’re supposed to know.

(They could ask, right?)
