How these guys make these huge movies so well just amazes me. A friend gives me his Cinematographers Guild magazines. I read a discourse about mirror splitting vs trying to match lenses for stereo-photography aka 3d. Then ya got the whole 48 frame 60 frame thing going on. The look of movies is changing like when color came out. It will take audiences a year or two to adjust.
I can see where film makers get addicted to the work. Heck my little thriller short PreView is a challenge. This weekend I shoot the most complicated scene I ever tried. 6 people total. And it’s already a lot of moving parts. Rental gear like rails and monitor. (Hopefully) two Canon 7D’s. A boom and mic with a board to feed audio to my camera. A person with a reflector, a focus puller and a cameraman. Then 2 in the cast. All for what will likely be 30 seconds or so of a three minute film. But it’s a ball to do. Really fun.
