I know, the Poles have always been pretty socially conservative but I thought they wouldn’t succumb to that. I was also very saddened as an American of Slovene origin to see ugliness to the refugees as they crossed into Slovenia. It’s weird seeing Germany emerge as a leader for support and acceptance of refugees. Of course, that’s complicated too.

Especially given how Slovenia was the first to be attacked by Serbia in the early 1990s.
