A fellow by the name of Bishop James Ussher in the late 17th century sat down and compiled all the genealogies and ages of people in the Bible and calculated the earth was created in 4004 B.C.

There are enough people who, with all sincerity, will tell you the exact date and time Creation was started. Yet ask them why Jesus was born around 6 B.C., again thanks to Bishop Ussher, and you get a deer caught in the headlights look.
