If you zoom in on this pic it pretty clear that it’s a defensive wound at the bottom of his hand. Probably fighting off Mr Stabby McKnife

Anyone have a clue as to the nature of the round silver-colored device near the top of the pic? It has some markings on it. Ultrasound? Microwave?
