He’ll likely take his case to the American people and explain, from his point of view, what got us into this S&P mess and a way out of it. Expect to hear the Republican called out on this. Last time I checked he is the president and presidents get to do this. In fact it’s almost a tradition. Many call it the “bull pulpit” of the presidency. That’s what it amount to. He’s the president, and he gets to speak. It’s to his and the Democrats political advantage.

Back in ‘93 Canada was downgraded from AAA+ to AA+ and it didn’t finish us off. We’re back to AAA+.
