Someone the other day was saying that the best way of understanding the meaning of “politically correct” is to replace the phrase with an appropriate form of “caring about other people’s feelings”.
“I’m not politically correct” -> “I’m not someone who cares about other people’s feelings”
“There’s too much political correctness in the USA today” -> “There’s too much caring about other people’s feelings in the USA today”.
