The article from TPM linked above actually makes a more compelling argument that Trump shouldn’t be allowed to have any SCOTUS nominee confirmed given the pending investigations and court cases against him, and the reasonable likelihood that his nominee would play a prominent role in deciding significant legal issues concerning the Russia investigation, the lawsuit re: Emoluments Clause violations, and procedural issues surrounding each. Massive conflict of interest.

Though I’m sure Republican assholes will try to gin up a fake investigation to delay a nomination if and when the next Democratic president is elected.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t use this means now.
