Politically, Al Franken will be a disaster for Democrats in the future. Sorry, but Republicans hold their office holders to a different standard than Democrats. They fucking put a rapist in the White House and will likely elect a child molester to the Senate. Republican pols will capitalize on Franken maximally, we’re talkin’ attack ads, more asinine whataboutism, and faux outrage. Guess what, folks, that shit works on the Republican base, mobilizes them, and gets them to the polls. Just because “our side” is righteous doesn’t make the “other side” automatically stop thinking we’re evil.
