Does Russia Have Leverage Over Trump?
An interview with Diana Pilipenko on Moscow’s potential kompromat.

Pilipenko thinks it is financial, having to do with Trump’s need for “alternate financing” in some of his ventures. This fits well with the consistent effort by GOP members of the House Intelligence Committee to obstruct Democratic members’ attempts to get records from Deutsche Bank.

I’m convinced that that is the center of this all, his finances and the misrepresentation of his “wealth.” That he is so overleveraged that if the Russians or their intermediaries ever called in his debts, his little “empire” would crumble and he’d be out on his ass. I’d even argue there’s a psychological element to it, that he’s afraid of looking like a failure and so is desperate to keep the illusion of wealth surrounding him until he dies.
