If the Republican Congress won’t get off its ass and do the obvious thing by impeaching Trump and removing him from office, a US military coup may very well be the better option (although still disastrous).

Military coups end democracies and civil rights.

As horrendous as all this is, it is unlikely Trump or his allies can’t do permanent damage (though they can do significant damage) before the election.

You don’t want a military coup. You want as many people as possible voting in every election, as if their lives depend on it.

Conservatives drive their voters to the polls through fear (Teh Geyh! Abortion! They’re going to take our GUNZ!). Liberals now have a good fear reason to drive voters to the polls: Conservatives are trying to take our democratic republic away.
