If one believes that the goal in the Senate is Trump’s removal or to do such damage to him politically as to make his reelection virtually impossible, then getting his inner circle on the stand is worth the possible damage to Joe Biden’s campaign. If this were happening in the fall, weeks after the convention and the nomination, I could agree that it’s not worth the risk. But now? When there’s still a robust field to fill the spot if he’s deemed “damaged goods”? I say go for it.

I also think that just because Republicans want something doesn’t make it a bad idea from our perspective, especially when they’re on their back heels and being forced into hastily constructed defenses of the indefensible.

Joe should view this as an opportunity. This is his time to shine, if he wants it.
