In another fine example of failing to think things through post-Brexit, the UK is trying to attract (temporary) drivers to ease their delivery problems.

But those drivers will need passports. None is needed to travel within the EU since the Schengen accords (each nation has its own mandatory photo ID).

So asking drivers to pay upwards of the equivalent of $100 to obtain a passport that they might well only need until December is yet another disincentive…

Again showing that so much of the delay in implementing Brexit was more about feet-dragging than actually needing to…you know…plan for Brexit.
