Don’t let the religious co-opt the term ‘marriage’. It may have been a term with religious roots several centuries ago, even as recently as 60 or 70 years ago, but it has become secular as western society has developed from a culture steeped in religion to one centred in secular egalitarianism.

And I don’t think that change a wholly good one. Especially egalitarianism, since I’ve always been anti-egalitarian.
