One small detail that isn’t covered in the links that have been provided so far:

Dunn left the scene of the shooting, and wasn’t arrested until after witnesses wrote down his license plate number and law enforcement tracked him down to his home.

I think that’s the biggest indicator that he’s full of shit. They fled so the threat was gone. Instead of calling the cops after discharging his weapon in public he took off. It doesn’t look good for him.
